Creating Menus - The Gimp (cont.)
- select the 'buttonmask' layer and draw the button outlines or the "selector" you want to use. Make sure anti-aliasing is off! Your mask image can only have a maximum of 4 colors at this time. Remember the coordinates of the rectangles around each button affect you create.
- Save as an .xcf (gimp image) for future manipulation.
- Hide the 'buttonmask' layer and then save the background layer as a jpeg file. I name it after the menu screen I'm working on, for example: toc.jpg, chapter.jpg
- Show the 'buttonmask' layer and hide the background layer. Save as a png file. I add -mask to the background image name. toc-mask.png, chapter-mask.png
