DVD Video Standards
DVD Video is mpeg2 with a bit rate ranging from 4Mb/s - 10Mb/s. The higher the bit rate, the better the quality, but the less you can store. The lower the bit rate, the smaller you want your picture to be otherwise you get lots of artifacts.
DVD Audio can be mpeg1-layer2, AC3 or PCM but must be recorded at 48khz.
You can have multiple audio tracks per movie allowing you to have multiple languages, soundtracks, etc.
