• 3 types of media currently available

  • RAM - rewritable and stores the most currently, but is not supported by personal DVD players. This is used mainly for archival purposes.
  • "Dash" (-) - The official DVD standard for dvd players. Currently burns RW at 1x, R at 2x. -R is the most compatible in current players.
  • "Plus" (+) - A competing standard not officially endorsed by the DVD forum. Currently burns RW at 2.4x, R at 4x. +R is the most compatible.
